Ronan Ryan is the Chief Marketing and Development Officer of the Canadian Red Cross (CRC). Ronan joined the CRC in 2015 and began a business transformation project to transform the organization’s philanthropic operations from a federated structure to a fully integrated functional model. In parallel he developed an in-house Marketing function and suite of services in digital, web development, creative strategy and customer experience: pioneering digital and text marketing to diverse audience segments; introducing descriptive and predictive analytics to drive acquisition of volunteers and donors, and championing CX strategies that aim to put donors, volunteers and customers at the heart of all engagement efforts. In 2017, Ronan was given additional responsibility as the lead of the Commercial Operations Division within the organization, managing the programs that teach life-savings skills to Canadians.
Over this time he has been privileged to lead a team of awarded-winning fundraisers, marketers and life-savers who together have significantly increased philanthropic and commercial revenues for the Canadian Red Cross to close to $200MM annually, while bringing First Aid courses to 600,000, and swimming/water safety courses to over 1,000,000 Canadians each year.
Ronan lives outside of Toronto with his wife and three young children: future NYT bestselling author, Nobel-winning scientist, and No.1 draft pick for the Toronto Maple Leafs respectively.
