Charlene Krepiakevich is a Chief Executive with a distinctive ability for developing and implementing pragmatic and functional, vision-driven strategies that brings organizations, brands, products, and services to life.

Currently, Charlene is the Chief Executive Officer at viaSport British Columbia, a non-profit society formed as a legacy of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games to foster the growth of amateur sport in British Columbia. Funded by the government of British Columbia through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, viaSport supports amateur sport organizations through education, training, advocacy, and funding. Guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, Charlene spearheaded a new strategic plan to build on its foundation to further expand, elevate, and strengthen the role amateur sport plays in our communities -- demonstrating that sport not only delivers mental and physical health benefits, it is also a catalyst for community connectivity and economic development.

Prior to her arrival to viaSport, Charlene was the Chief Executive Officer at Easter Seals BC/Yukon, a registered charity to support persons with diverse abilities. In her time at Easter Seals, Charlene guided her team and the Board through a deep analysis of its financial position, its engagement with its donors, its organizational structure, and its long-term plan. The outcome was an exciting 10 year vision to
reimagine Easter Seals services, programs, and facilities in BC/Yukon. This vision set the stage for a long-term capital reinvestment and campaign to provide year-round programming for persons with diverse abilities of all ages.

Charlene’s passion for community impact was further demonstrated during her five years as Executive Director of the Vancouver International Marathon Society. With her small team of event professionals, Charlene guided the development of the organization to foster the growth of running, engage sponsors, communities, and volunteers, and promote health and wellness.  Through the BMO Vancouver Marathon, the Granville Island Turkey Trot, and the Fall Classic @ UBC, Charlene enabled a 40% growth in sport participation, a 25% increase in sponsorship, and 344% increase in volunteers. Further, under Charlene’s leadership, the Society created the RUNVAN brand, and placed the Vancouver Marathon on the international running map as a top 10-destination marathon welcoming runners and supporters from nearly 50 countries.

Prior to 2011, Charlene worked as a Management Consultant to help small and medium sized businesses and non-profit organizations, as Vice President of Marketing Communications for the Canadian Cancer Society, and as Director, Marketing for Silver Birch Hotels & Resorts. With this experience in a broad range of sectors, in national and international markets, and in complex organizations, Charlene inspired teams to deliver comprehensive strategic analysis, creative brand strategies, organizational change, and top and bottom line results.

Charlene has a Master’s Degree of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University and a Public Relations/Communications Diploma from Mount Royal University.
